Krakow

Arrived Krakow sunday and spent 2 nights here, leaving to night. Krakow was nice but i´ve heard so much about how beatiful it was and i guess i had high expectation.
Took a free tour in the jewish quarter, had some beers with the people from the tour, had some nice polsih beer and hanged out. Me and a aussie guy went to a saltmine 130 m below the surface wich was really cool, they carved everything out of the salt, and today i went to auschwitz wich was scary. The most scaring thing was how big Birkenau is.

In Kaunas and leaving for warsawa in three hours. Gonna catch the nightbus wich i hope is comfy.
Kaunas is a big, industrial and a bit worn down city. Had to stay in a hotel the first night cause i couldnt find the hostel, but last night i a newly opened hostel.¨
Did a lot of sightseeing and visited a collegue from work in sweden who is working here, got to see the hospital and his ward. Talked a bit to a nurse but her english was bad and she didnt seem to want me to be there so just stayed a short while. Saw two doctors standng in the stairwell smoking,  i was tempted to take a picture of them but..
Ok lets go to warsawa!

Visting hospital, got a tour from a collegue in sweden, interesting and a bit different than sweden. 

Since i was the first swede i had to paint the swedish flag on the hostelwall.

Took a minibus to a fort, the guy dropped me in a freewayintersection and pointed left.

Ninth fort wich was used as a fort and later deathcamp during sovjet, nazi and sovjet again occupation.

I will never forget when the guy asks "ready?" with a latvian accent and then he is very far away.

Arrived Nida today, a beutiful small town on the lith end of a long peninsula 3 km from the russian/kaliningrad border. Tried to get Visa to Russia but i had to have a pic of myself and to get that i had to go 1,5 hour north and back, so next time. Riga was nice with some nice people and some partying. Saw some nice places.


Since monday me and 2 others have been hiring a car and driving around, nice national park sigulda, saw some caves, tried a human catapult, went sightseeing in and old town and slept in an old militaryprison. Nice days, not having to depend on buses and schedules.

Tomorrow of to Kaunas since Kaliningrad was a bit hard..

Daytrip from Tallin to a nationalpark, biggest waterfall in baltic contries. You could walk behind it, awsome but wet.

Riga

Checking out Riga from above.

Arrived in Riga this morning, walked around town, went on a free tour. Hostel is kind of shitty, big dorm and everything seems to be broken.


Met an American on the bus here, tonight a few beers with him.

Tartu!

Arrived the second largest city in estonia today, leaving for riga tomorrow morning so a real quick visit. Tallinn was good with a lot of travellers and some pubvisiting.
Strange though how many travellers just want to hang out with other travellers.
Now to get something to eat and see the town a little bit. Pics next time when the cleaninglady at the library is coming this way with a broom to clean.
